Extra free early ultrasound upon registration

In de loop van je zwangerschap zijn er verschillende momenten waarop we echo’s maken om de gezondheid en ontwikkeling van je baby zorgvuldig te volgen. Normaal gesproken krijg je de eerste echo bij 10 weken zwangerschap, maar wij kunnen ons voorstellen dat dat een lange tijd is om te wachten. Zeker als je in het verleden zwanger bent geweest en het is misgegaan, of als je bijvoorbeeld last hebt van bloedverlies. Bij ons krijg je daarom standaard bij je aanmelding meteen een early ultrasound tussen de 6-7 weken, ook als je geen bloedverlies hebt. Normaal gesproken wordt deze vroege echo alleen vergoed door de zorgverzekeraar als je bloedverlies hebt of een miscarriage in de voorgeschiedenis. Wij vinden het echter belangrijk dat iedereen een vroege echo krijgt, zonder hiervoor te betalen. Daarom vergoeden wij jouw vroege echo als je geen bloedverlies hebt of geen miskraam hebt doorgemaakt in het verleden. Jij hoeft je dus alleen maar aan te melden als je zwanger bent en wij maken de afspraak voor je bij het echocentrum. 

Standard Echoes

Besides the early ones echo You will receive the following ultrasound scans as standard during your pregnancy:

• Term echo: Ongeveer rond de 10e week in je zwangerschap voeren we een termijnecho uit om de verwachte geboortedatum vast te stellen. Deze datum is essentieel voor het verdere verloop van je zwangerschap, inclusief je zwangerschapsverlof. Bovendien bevestigen we het aantal baby’s.

• 13 week ultrasound (optional): If you wish, you can have an ultrasound done around the 13th week to screen for physical abnormalities in your baby. Although the baby is still small, larger abnormalities can sometimes be made visible.

• 20 weeks Echo (optional): The 20-week ultrasound, also known as the structural ultrasound examination (SEO), is performed around the 20th week and is reimbursed by your health insurance. This ultrasound examines organ development, growth and amount of amniotic fluid, and offers a reliable method for detecting serious congenital abnormalities.

Ultrasounds on Indication

In addition to the standard ultrasounds, there are situations in which additional ultrasounds may be necessary:

• Growth echo: During pregnancy, a growth check can be performed to check whether your baby is developing as expected. We measure the head, abdominal circumference, leg length and assess the amount of amniotic fluid.

• Location ultrasound: Around the 35th week we perform a position ultrasound if there are any doubts about the position of your baby. This is important to determine whether the baby is head down for a vaginal delivery. We also check the position of the placenta to ensure that it is not in front of the cervix.

Fun ultrasounds

In addition to medical ultrasounds, we also offer fun ultrasounds. These are extra moments to catch a glimpse of your baby and share this special moment with your loved ones. There are two types of fun ultrasounds with different prices:

• Gender determination ultrasound: Would you like to discover whether you are having a boy or a girl? Our gender determination ultrasounds are perfect for sharing this exciting secret with your family and friends. The costs for this are €53 and are not reimbursed by insurance.

• Fun ultrasound without gender determination: Sometimes you just want to take a peek and admire that little miracle in your belly. Whether it's grandma, your best friend or your partner who would like to catch a glimpse, everyone is very welcome. Our regular fun ultrasound costs €53 and must be paid in advance.

With these fun ultrasounds you can enjoy the experience with your loved ones. So invite the baby's grandmother, aunt or a friend to enjoy this special moment together.
