When you may have a miscarriage

Dealing with worries and possible miscarriage

The joy and anticipation that a positive pregnancy test brings can often come with uncertainties, especially in the early stages of pregnancy. Symptoms such as blood loss or abdominal pain can understandably cause concern. If you have experienced a miscarriage before, this can be a lonely and anxious time. We want you to know that we offer comprehensive support and advice, even if you are concerned about a possible miscarriage.

Blood loss and possible risk of miscarriage

If you experience bleeding or abdominal pain during your pregnancy, do not hesitate to contact us. You can reach us on telephone number 06 42 61 01 99. We are here to support you, even if you are not yet registered with us as a client. It is important to note that blood loss is not always a sign of a miscarriage. In fact, blood loss indicates a miscarriage in only 50% of cases. This means that there is also an equal chance that the pregnancy will go well.

Causes of miscarriages

Miscarriages often have no clear cause. Although factors such as smoking, previous miscarriages, and age can increase the risk, chromosomal abnormalities in the baby are often the most common cause. In rare cases, an abnormality of the uterus can lead to a miscarriage. It is important to understand that miscarriages usually cannot be prevented. Intensive physical activity, sex, stress and travel are generally not proven causes of miscarriage.

Course of a miscarriage

During a miscarriage, cramps in the lower abdomen often occur. You may see tissue during blood loss; this can be the embryo and sometimes also the placenta. If the miscarriage does not start on its own, medication may be considered to start the process. If you have doubts about a possible miscarriage, repeating a pregnancy test is usually pointless. The test remains positive even if the pregnancy does not go well.
